The Vampire Facelift and Facial
The Vampire Facelift® and the Vampire Facial® – are they worth it?
In a word: YES
Although we can remove loose skin, heat it with lasers, plump it with fillers and relax it with toxins…we still fall short of legitimate rejuvenation. None of these procedures directly stimulate cells to “behave differently”. That’s where Charles Runels’, MD patented procedures come into play.
Think of it this way- with aging our skin takes on a greyish pallor and loses its glow. Structurally, our soft tissue collapses as we lose volume in both our deeper tissue and bony scaffolding. Furthermore, every aging person recognizes the changes in skin pigment and texture: rough, dry, brittle and mottled.
The Vampire Facelift® utilizes a combination of hyaluronic acids (HAs) and platelet rich plasma (PRP) to perform synergistic anti-aging functions. When strategically injected, the HA’s act to ‘lift’ collapsed areas and even out transition zones between the various areas of the face. This helps to restore a more youthful and natural shape/structure to the face.
But, it’s the addition of PRP that starts the magic! PRP serves as the vehicle to deliver your own biologic growth factors (by injection) into your tissue to activate multipotent stem cells. Once activated, your stem cells replicate and repair your aging tissue. New tissue takes the form of blood vessels (restoring the rosey complexion), collagen and elastin (hello again to skin tone!), hyaluronic acid (for that dew-y youthful glow), fatty tissue (for much needed smoothing and volume) and the matrix that holds cells together and thickens the skin. In this manner, color, fine lines, texture, moisture and overall quality and integrity are improved. The Vampire Facelift® introduces a credible and regenerative biologic stimulus directly to cells of our aging skin. PRP doesn’t just sit on your skin, it becomes your skin.
In comparison, the Vampire Facial® approaches aging skin from its surface. Using a small instrument (micropen), thousands of tiny punctures are made into the surface of the skin at variable depths, from 0.5 to 2.5mm. In this case, as soon as the punctures are made your PRP is saturated through the punctures, seeping into the skin from it superficial surface. Healing is then hastened as each puncture site, seals itself, from the deep to the superficial skin surface. As such, this process not only tightens and smooths your skin but additionally stimulates your stem cells to differentiate into younger, more vital cells.
The combination of the Vampire Facelift® and the Vampire Facial® revolutionizes our approach to skin care by directly changing the way our skin cells behave in both the superficial and deep layers, doubling the gains and maximizing the outcome!
Worth it? Yes. Visible difference?? Absolutely. Are we loving it? You betch’a!
Can the Vampire Facelift® get rid of my fine lines and wrinkles?
This procedure combines micropenning of the entire face with injections of the Platelet Rich Plasma that we extract from your own blood. These two techniques combined will improve superficial lines by virtue of the action of the growth factors associated with platelets. So, yes, the Vampire Facelift can be beneficial in rejuvenating the skin and improving its texture and integrity, including the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Should I combine the Vampire Facelift® with fillers?
Now you’re thinking like a board-certified plastic surgeon! I absolutely recommend combining fillers with the Vampire Facelift® Think of it this way, the filler gives volume to the deeper tissue in your skin. The micropen creates hundreds of tiny “channels” in the skin which is then saturated with your own platelet rich plasma. The PRP seeps down through those channels to the depths of the skin where it will encourage the growth of new cells to build in a better blood supply, elastin, collagen, cell matrix, hyaluronic acid and fat. By doing so, you will restore softness, a rosy glow and improved texture to your skin.
Just the name – Vampire Facelift® – sounds scary and painful. Is it?
I understand your hesitation when hearing anything to do with vampires…and blood! I can tell you that I’ve had personal experience with this treatment and I’ve performed it on many patients so far. While each individual and their pain tolerance is different, I’ve found that my patients do well with the application of properly-timed numbing cream and an expert hand.
Depending on how the PRP is mixed, it can have more or less of a sting. We’ll discuss your history and personal pain tolerance level at your consultation in order to provide to you the best experience and results!
