Perk Up with a Vampire Breast Lift
If you suffer from “droopy” cleavage, diminished curves/fullness, wrinkly chest/cleavage skin, inverted nipples or decreased sensation in your breasts from aging, the Vampire Breast Lift is made for you. In this quick, in-office procedure, blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate the growth factors from the blood. The potent growth factors are then injected into the breast and chest area where they activate new blood vessels, collagen and tissue growth in the deep layers of skin and soft tissue over the next 1-2 months. The effects of the procedure (younger, softer skin and thicker more voluminous tissue) can last for 2 years and more!
Benefits of the Vampire Breast Lift
Dr. Ellen Mahony is a board-certified plastic surgeon in the Fairfield County area who is certified to perform this unique procedure that uses a patient’s Platelet Rich Plasma to release important growth factors deep into your skin and soft tissues, encouraging blood flow, collagen and elastin production and a more vibrant, youthful look to the cleavage and breast tissue.
If you want a dramatic change to your breast size or to correct breast sagging, you might want to consider a breast augmentation or breast lift. The Vampire Breast Lift® is a great non-surgical addition to these procedures offering volume to the cleavage area especially and creating deeply-healthy soft, smooth skin tissue.
What is a Vampire Breast Lift?
The Vampire Breast Lift is a rewarding non-surgical procedure intended to subtly lift the breasts, helping you reclaim a more youthful appearance through the effects of platelet-rich plasma. Unlike traditional breast lifts, the VBL does not require general anesthesia or incisions. It does not require downtime and does not involve foreign objects. Though there are limitations to be aware of, the Vampire Breast Lift is a popular procedure through which Dr. Mahony has achieved impressive results.
Who is an Ideal Candidate for a Vampire Breast Lift?
The Vampire Breast Lift is an excellent treatment option for women who want the kind of lift they might get from wearing a push-up bra. It is important to acknowledge the differences between this non-surgical treatment and breast augmentation. If your breasts have severe ptosis or deflation after weight changes or nursing, surgery may be more effective at achieving meaningful improvement. If you are unhappy with the way that your breasts have changed due to aging, hormones, weight, and other factors, but you prefer to avoid plastic surgery, the Vampire Breast Lift may be suitable for you. The Vampire Breast Lift is not appropriate for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have had breast cancer, or who have a predisposition to the disease.
What is the Vampire Breast Lift Procedure Like?
The Vampire Breast Lift is a conservative non-surgical procedure that takes about an hour. When you arrive for your appointment, we will make you comfortable in your private treatment room. You may wear a hospital gown, opened in the front. You will disrobe from the waist up. Dr. Mahony or a member of our staff will apply numbing cream to your breasts. Then, while that topical anesthetic works, we will draw blood from your arm. This is just like you would experience during a routine physical. We will then take the vials of blood and process them in a centrifuge, a medical device that spins at high-velocity. The centrifuge separates your blood plasma from other blood products, including red blood cells.
Depending on your treatment plan, Dr. Mahony may add hyaluronic acid to your PRP to further enhance your outcome. Once your breast tissue is numb, within about thirty minutes, you will receive the PRP via a series of injections. During your treatment, Dr. Mahony can review what is happening and how the PRP will work to firm and lift your breasts.
Recovery and Aftercare
One of the advantageous points of the Vampire Breast Lift is that there is virtually zero downtime associated with this non-surgical treatment. Because you receive only a topical anesthetic, there is no grogginess. Because you won't have incisions, you don't have to worry about major activity restrictions. The side effects associated with the Vampire Breast Lift are usually limited to bruising and swelling. These are expected to resolve in a few days.
To ensure the best possible outcome from your procedure, Dr. Mahony may advise you to do the following:
- Avoid rubbing or massaging your breasts.
- Clean the area gently using mild soap.
- Avoid products that could irritate the skin until all swelling and redness have resolved.
- If you experience tenderness or soreness, apply a cold compress for up to 15 minutes, a few times a day.
- Avoid alcohol consumption and strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Keep pressure off your chest for 48 hours. You may need to sleep reclined or elevated to do this.
- You may engage in sexual activity the same day of your procedure if you feel well enough.
- Contact our office if you have questions or concerns!
How Soon Will I be able to See the Results of My Vampire Breast Lift?
The Vampire Breast Lift works synergistically with your body's natural regenerative processes. Initial effects may relate more to volume increase and swelling caused by your injections. We anticipate the full rewards of the Vampire Breast Lift to be revealed approximately three months after injections are performed. In this time, the growth factors and circulation in the target area increase to tighten and shape the skin and the envelop of tissue that holds the breast mounds in their natural position.
ASK DR. MAHONY
With all of my PRP-based procedures I recommend a series of injections – usually two or three – to obtain the best results. In my experience this allows the beneficial growth factors to be stimulated several times and really get to work! Continued improvement will be seen two to three months after your last injection and can last for about 2 years.
