Case #2765
Corrective Breast Surgery
This petite young woman, 5’4”, 118 lbs was incredibly self-conscious about her equally petite breasts. Although she has always worn padded bras, she just wanted to be able to wear a regular bra and have body proportions that were aligned- without the extra padding. After careful thought and discussion with her family, she underwent a breast augmentation and was delighted with the result!
She had selected 300 cc saline implants and they were placed below the muscle, through small incisions at the fold of each breast. Her cup size changed from an A cup to a D. Many months after her surgery, she noticed that her left breast implant was sitting lower than her right. She came in to see Dr Mahony to find out what could be done.
Her breasts were measured and the difference in shape noted. Dr. Mahony discussed in detail the options in treatment including a revision of the left breast to “tighten” the pocket holding the implant. This would raise the implant up to match her right side.
The capsulorraphy was performed as an outpatient and all went well. She was a little sore for about a week but able to go to work in just a few days. It’s only been a few months since the surgery but already her shape and symmetry are so much better!
