Eyelid Surgery
As an active Mom of two athletic boys, this Mom was on the run all the time. She genuinely enjoys the travel and pace of their lifestyle but truth be told, some days it would run her ragged… Something to which we can all relate! One of the first things women notice about the decade of the 40’s, is that aging begins to show up in the eyelids- they take on puffiness and hooding that can be a little disappointing. She decided to explore the idea of an eyelid surgery as a lasting solution rather than continue with the small fortune she was investing in ineffective lotions and potions.
Her consultation with Dr. Mahony was relaxing, informative and gave her a complete overview of the options available to her. She decided to remove both a wedge of skin and a little fat from her upper eyelids, to restore the eyelid shape. In addition, she decided to have some of the fatty tissue removed from her lower eyelid, through a tiny incision inside her lower eyelid. This would reduce the “bag” of the lower eyelids without a visible scar.
Once the outpatient procedure was completed, the healing process proceeded uneventfully. She did have some bruising which resolved over the course of a week- no big deal. And, she had the immediate gratification of eyes that looked more awake, larger, open and younger than she even imagined! What could be better than that?!
