PDO Thread
Although this lovely 75 yo lady stopped smoking 30 years ago, she was still stricken with the tell- tale “smoker’s lines” around her mouth. This is a problem common to aging in general but particularly a sensitive issue for former smokers. Facial rejuvenation has been a long- standing interest for this local entertainer. She first came to see Dr. Mahony for a series of Vampire Facials and an ALMI stem cell procedure to rejuvenate and restore her aging skin. She loved the results of her other treatments and was now ready to battle the deep lines around her mouth. She was introduced to PDO threads by Dr. Mahony. There are many types of thread lift procedures, all of which incorporate surgical suture/threads for tightening and thickening the skin. Once inserted, they stimulate collagen synthesis to help restore the skin’s integrity in the affected area which plumps the tissue and helps smooth it out.
This patient had two rounds of 10 PDO threads (6 in upper lip, 4 in the lower lip), performed about 6 weeks apart. She also had microdermabrasion and a touch of Botox. A quick and painless procedure, the results speak for themselves- here she is 7 months later!
